- Family Class (Sponsorship)
This broad stream is for family member applicants who are sponsored by their Canadian Citizen or Canadian Permanent Resident family member (who generally lives in Canada with few exceptions). Usually this stream is for family members who are blood relatives but there are exceptions. Family members include mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, grand-mothers, grand-fathers, grand-children, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Key Items to know:
-All family members—whether accompanying the applicant or not to Canada—must undergo medical and criminal clearances.
-The applicant can also include any child that is under the age of 22 or over 22 only if the child is still undertaking full time bona fide studies.
