Temporary Work Permits

This stream involves a Canadian company becoming authorized to recruit foreign workers through the use of an LMO (Labour Market Opinion) and in turn ‘sponsoring’ the applicant with their application at the visa post/embassy. Work permits are usually for 1 to 2 years and pay wages similar to the market wage for that occupation and in that region where the job is being performed.   

Student Authorizations give the student applicant the proper credentials to live in Canada while taking University, College, or Vocational level courses.  A huge benefit to this stream is that the student can also get authorization to work, part-time, while maintaining a full course load in satisfactory standing. As well, after the student graduates, in many cases there is the opportunity to work for a Canadian company for 1 year and also to be eligible for permanent residency via other streams.

Once the applicant has obtained permanent residency they are eligible to sponsor their family members.

• Tourist/Visitor Visa

Obtaining tourist visas can be more difficult than it seems. Canada consistently ranks number 1 in terms of countries that people want to live in worldwide and therefore it is incumbent on the applicant to demonstrate that their visit to Canada is indeed just that—a visit.  You will most likely will be interviewed by a non-immigrant visa officer and they have a wide latitude of questioning they can take with you.  You should be prepared for this meeting.  One time entry visas can be for as long as six months and multiple entry visas can be as long as five years
